This is a full-time job with benefits!
Monday-Friday, 4:00am-1:00pm, overtime as needed/occasional weekends
The ideal ENVIRONMENTAL LAB TECH Must have the knowledge and ability to follow aseptic protocol; collect line samples, raw and pasteurized milk samples received and produced daily for testing.
- Manage Allergen Control Program: verify allergen testing results, assure they are being completed
- Manage Environmental Monitoring Program: sample collection, sending samples to labs, tracking/trending, investigations and corrective actions
- Daily Pre-Operational Inspections (including ATP Swabbing)
- In charge of purchasing for QA Department (keep up with lab inventory supplies)
- Use ATP swabs daily sanitation verifications and environmental swabbing
- Collects and preps samples to ship to lab
- CAPAs as assigned (root cause investigation, corrective/preventive actions)
- Participates in monthly and yearly internal audits of the production facility.
- Assists in collecting wastewater samples and completing necessary paperwork to comply with regulations.
- Batch record review and verification (verifying we meet internal specifications and traceability)
- Assists in food safety and quality projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of math skills, computer, ability to read/interpret documents, and write routine reports/correspondence. May perform other duties as assigned, work as part of a team, maintain a clean/sanitary/safe work area. Requires accuracy and attention to detail. English language proficiency required. Previous lab experience is preferred but not required. The employee must regularly push, pull; lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
