Another Source’s client, San Diego State University, is recruiting a Finance and Administration Manager to support the College of Arts and Letters in San Diego, California. You will have the opportunity to work one day each week remotely.

Internally this role is titled: Director of Resources Management

The College of Arts and Letters has 18 academic departments, 12 interdisciplinary programs, 24 centers, and one joint doctoral program. With over 475 permanent faculty and associated lecturers, the College is the largest of the seven colleges at San Diego State University and is responsible for 36% of the instruction at the University. There are approximately 50 administrative support and student services employees in the college. The Dean's Office is responsible for the implementation and continued support of the instructional, research, and development processes in the college.

Anticipated hiring range: $97,000-$100,000

About the role:

The Finance and Administration Manager reports to the Dean with a dotted line relationship to the Provost Office and has the following responsibilities:

Develop and manage the college’s instructional faculty budget.

Develop and supervise the management of all other budgets including non-instructional funds, supplies and services, Foundation funds, equipment funds, and other miscellaneous allocations.

Allocate staff resources to departments, provide human resource management, and supervise the staff evaluation process.

Oversee college operations in a Shared Services environment.

Analyze and recommend on a variety of special assignments as required by the Dean and Office of the Provost.

What we would like to see from you:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with major work in accounting, finance, business, or public administration.

5-7 years of experience in the content and expertise areas related to this position.

Experience with fiscal management and budget preparation, analysis and projections.

Supervisory or lead experience/experience in management of personnel with transactional responsibilities.

Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment.

Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.

Knowledge of basic methods and procedures for research and statistical analysis and the ability to apply them.

Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques.

Ability to organize and plan work and projects including handling multiple priorities.

Ability to compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty.

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the work group and serve as a liaison for the organizational unit.

Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved.

Skill in the research, development and evaluation of policies and programs, including skill in the collection, evaluation, and interpretation of data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.

Faculty budget including ATF experience.
