Job Description
Congregation Beth Am, is a thriving Jewish synagogue whose schools boast 3 consecutive years of growth, is looking for a part time supervisor of our teen assistant teachers (“Madrikhim”). This individual will be responsible for overseeing the hiring, training, supervision and management of over 40 teenagers who serve as teacher assistants during Hebrew School hours. Beth Am’s Hebrew School name is the Jewish Learning Center and has classes for grades K-6 on Sundays from 9-12.
Candidate should have the following traits:
Familiar with Hebrew and Judaic content.
Excitement for opportunity to help mentor teenagers to be successful young leaders,
Experience with managing youth through logistics, schedule, calendar, and on-site supervision.
Comfort in communicating regularly with families to build relationships, promote events, etc
Responsibilities include:
Recruit and Hire all teenage assistant teachers.
Train and Mentor teenage assistant teachers.
Manage teenage assistant teachers.
Serve as a liaison between teachers and teenage assistant teachers.
Communication with all teenage assistant teachers.
Oversee 2-3 teenage assistant teachers led programs that take place over the course of the year.
Teach Monday night Teacher training class to first year teenage assistant teachers.
Coordinating madrikhim for 2-3 synagogue wide events each year.
Oversee attendance and coordinate stipend biannual stipend payments to the madrikhim.
