We are a K-8 Charter School in San Diego that powerfully create our lives through self-expression, compassionate connection, and purposeful learning. We are a hands on, inquiry based school that also uses positive discipline as our behavior management system. We are looking for someone to add to our team who is flexible, organized and loves being around kids.
Duties
- Support students with disabilities on specified goals and assignments
- Track and record minutes spent with specific students on your caseload weekly
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and activities for students
- Support students in their learning and development, providing individualized attention and guidance
- Assist with behavior management strategies to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Provide support during classroom activities, including group work, projects, and presentations
- Help students with their assignments and provide feedback on their progress
- Assist with maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment
Requirements
- Experience working with students, particularly in an educational setting
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Familiarity with preschool or early childhood education principles and practices
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students with developmental disabilities
- Strong literacy education skills, including reading, writing, and communication
