Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Estimator / Bidder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the general engineering industry, specifically with expertise in estimating and bidding on projects involving grading, wet utilities (water, sewer), and dry utilities (electrical, telecommunications). This position offers flexibility for either part-time or full-time commitment.
Responsibilities:
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers for materials and services.
Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that meet project requirements and company standards.
Present and negotiate bid proposals with clients and project stakeholders.
Track and manage project costs to ensure profitability.
Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred, but not required).
Proven experience in estimating and bidding for general engineering projects.
Strong knowledge of grading, wet/dry utilities, and associated construction practices.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, ProEst, Sage Estimating).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
