American Asphalt & Concrete Inc. is seeking an experienced Estimator/Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter, responsible for estimating costs, managing project timelines, and ensuring high-quality execution of paving projects from start to finish. This role requires a strong understanding of asphalt paving processes and excellent organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate cost estimates for asphalt paving projects, including labor, materials, and equipment
Review project plans and specifications to determine project scope and requirements
Coordinate and manage multiple asphalt paving projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
Manage client relationships, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction
Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and crews, ensuring work is completed according to industry standards and safety regulations
Collaborate with superintendent to track material and maintain positive relationships with vendors
Produce and maintain detailed job logs (transmittals, submittals, RFIs)
Review subcontract agreements for accuracy and required supporting materials
Track project progress and adjust plans and schedules as necessary
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in asphalt paving or related construction management
Strong knowledge of asphalt materials, equipment, and industry practices
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Highly motivated with a tendency to take initiative
Ability to calculate and analyze data
Proficient computer skills with an emphasis in excel
Skilled at interpreting and understanding construction plans
Focused on continuous improvement
