Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coffee, providing excellent customer service, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our patrons. As a Barista, you will prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages, while ensuring a high standard of quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and create a friendly environment.
- Take customer orders and provide product recommendations.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any complaints promptly and professionally.
- Beverage Preparation:
- Prepare and serve coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages to standard recipes and customer preferences.
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment.
- Ensure consistency in beverage quality and presentation.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
- Assist with restocking and ordering supplies as needed.
- Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including coffee machines, counters, and seating areas.
- Follow health and safety regulations in food and beverage preparation and handling.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
- Cash Handling:
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Handle cash and card payments, and provide correct change.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work effectively with other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with training new staff as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment operation.
- Skills:
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic math skills for cash handling.
- Personal Attributes:
- Friendly and outgoing personality.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment:
- This position requires working in a busy coffee shop environment.
