We are a family-owned, coastal seafood restaurant that has been a staple in San Diego for 28 years, known for our commitment to fresh, locally sourced ingredients and warm hospitality. As we continue to evolve and refine our culinary program, we are seeking a Chef de Cuisine with Michelin experience to help elevate our menu while honoring the legacy of our long-standing establishment.

About the Position

The Chef de Cuisine will lead all kitchen operations with an emphasis on seasonal seafood, coastal flavors, and the creative refinement that comes from a Michelin background. This role combines tradition with innovation—ideal for a chef who respects classic seafood cookery but is excited to introduce modern technique and presentation.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Develop seasonal seafood-driven menus, specials, and tasting experiences

Elevate classic house favorites while introducing refined, modern dishes

Train and mentor a loyal, long-time kitchen team with a positive leadership style

Maintain the highest standards of consistency, quality, and cleanliness

Manage inventory, purchasing, and relationships with local fishermen and purveyors

Ensure all food safety and sanitation protocols are met

Collaborate with ownership on long-term menu vision and kitchen improvements

Maintain food and labor cost controls appropriate for an established family business

Requirements

Michelin restaurant experience preferred

Strong background in seafood preparation, coastal cuisine, and seasonal sourcing

3–5+ years of experience in a leadership role (Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine)

Ability to balance creativity with the expectations of long-time regulars

Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills

Professional, respectful, team-focused attitude

Ability to uphold our restaurant’s family values and high standards
