We are now looking for a talented and outgoing individual to join our team as a skilled Line Cook / Prep Cook.
Job Overview: As a Line Cook at Happy Medium, you will be an essential part of our kitchen team, responsible for preparing and cooking a wide range of dishes with precision and consistency. In addition to cooking, you will also be involved in prep work to ensure the seamless operation of the kitchen. Teamwork and collaboration are key elements of our kitchen culture, and we're looking for someone who thrives in such an environment. This position starts at $20 an hour plus tips!
Responsibilities:
Cooking: Prepare and cook menu items following established recipes and presentation standards. Ensure food quality and consistency, paying attention to taste, texture, and appearance. Adhere to proper cooking techniques and food safety guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized cooking station.
Prep Work: Assist in daily prep work, including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients. Stock and maintain adequate levels of food supplies for the line. Follow prep lists and prepare ingredients for the upcoming shifts. Assist in maintaining inventory and restocking supplies as needed.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and service. Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure orders are prepared accurately and on time. Support and assist colleagues during peak service periods. Foster a positive and collaborative kitchen environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 years of experience as a Line Cook in a restaurant
Proficiency in cooking techniques, including grilling, sautéing, and frying.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes.
Flexibility in working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
