Bento & Noodles Eastlake is offering employment for Ramen Cooks and Food Prep Cook. We are a family business that has operated for over 20 years in Chula Vista that offers delicious and affordable Japanese cuisine such as Fried Chicken and Tempura, Bento Boxes, Rice Bowls, Authentic Ramen Noodles, and more. We are looking for reliable individuals who enjoy the kitchen life and have open work availability and would like flexible hours!
We are open from 11 am - 9 pm on weekdays, until 9:30 pm on Friday and Saturday. We are offering Full Time or Part Time for Ramen Chefs who will be preparing delicious authentic ramen for our customers. We are preferably looking for those with 1-2 years of experience in the kitchen and those with STRONG knife cutting/handling skills as this job will require you to slice meat, vegetables, and garnishes at a high volume as a minimum requirement, in addition to a few other preferred qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications for Ramen Cook: $19 per hour + Tips
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in ramen or Japanese cuisine (or at least other restaurants)
Strong knife skills to slice pork belly and other garnishes such as green onions, fishcakes, etc.
Familiar with components of ramen such as broth, tare, noodles, and toppings
Ability to read orders and complete orders effectively in a fast-paced environment
Physical stamina to stand for longer periods or lift heavy stock pots when necessary
Effective teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with the kitchen staff
Current Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain one upon being hired
Further opportunities for leadership positions may be available later in employment
(First 30 days is training probation period and it will be set at $18.50 per hour with no tips. Once you successfully complete probation, you will receive the full $19 per hour + Tips)
