Harvest Kitchen, established in 2015, is a successful organic event catering company based in Vista is in need of a Jr. Sous Chef. We cater weddings, film shoots, and corporate/social events all across SoCal at the most beautiful venues. We have a family-like dynamic as a team and have a fun/healthy work environment.
This position is managed by the Executive Chef Josh Kemble, a great leader and fun to work with.
The Sous Chef assists the Exec and Kitchen Manager in ordering and setting prep lists, preps food for events throughout the week, and then serves as the Chef Captain nearly every Saturday at weddings, and other events throughout the week, leading a team of event chefs. You will be responsible for flawless execution of the menu and service at these events.
Sous Chef (Jr.) Responsibilities:
Food prep, following and updating recipes
Attend weekly meeting every Tuesday to go over all event details
Keep prepped ingredients and components labeled and organized by event and date.
Onsite/Chef Captain
Assist in loading (assist kitchen manager in loading event into vans)
Execute BOE/Job sheet and menu for plated family or sometimes buffet service
Lead team of event chefs, ensuring beautiful plating (TRAINING PROVIDED)
Work directly with FOH Captain for flawless service
Skills
A creative chef with an amazing palate, humble and willing to learn from others

Passionate about using organic, local, seasonal ingredients
Meticulous, and pay close attention to details
A great driver with a clean record, not afraid to drive a food truck.
Work Experience
Past Sous or lead chef experience
Catering experience not required but a big plus
