We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Specialty Market Deli Clerk with a passion for Italian food, deli meats, and cheeses to provide top-tier service to our customers. Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service Excellence: Greet and assist customers, providing expert guidance on deli meats, cheeses, and Italian specialties.
Product Knowledge: Utilize your expertise in Italian food and deli offerings to assist customers with recommendations, special orders, and product selection.
Deli Operations: Open and close the deli, manage cleanliness, ensure high-quality standards, and maintain inventory.
Food Preparation: Slice and prepare meats, cheeses, and other deli products, ensuring freshness and accuracy.
Display & Stocking: Update product displays, ensure proper stocking, rotation, and pricing of items.
Equipment Operation: Safely operate deli equipment including meat slicers, scales, and cutting tools.
Sanitation: Clean and sanitize deli equipment and work surfaces in accordance with health and safety standards.
Teamwork & Collaboration: Work closely with team members to maintain smooth deli operations.
Ideal Candidate:
Experience: 1+ years in a deli or related food service position with a strong knowledge of Italian food, deli meats, and cheeses.
Customer Service: Excellent communication skills, with a friendly and professional approach to customer interactions.
Work Ethic: Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to thrive under pressure in a team-oriented environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle the physical demands of the role, including standing and moving for extended periods.
Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding of food handling, sanitation, and health regulations.
Additional Skills:
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Basic math competency for inventory and financial transactions.
Creative problem-solving and ability to handle special orders and requests.
