Construction Support Services, Inc. is a new Construction Management firm based in San Diego, CA seeking to hire Construction Site Safety Health Officers – (SSHO) for various DOD projects in Southern, CA.
The SSHO monitors and records the safety of workers during all phases of construction. Duties include monitoring and evaluating site conditions, equipment and personnel compliance with Federal, State and Local rules, regulations, safety policies, procedures, and training programs governing the project.
Requirements.
1. High level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills.
2. Working knowledge of construction and general industry OSHA safety standards.
3. Working knowledge of USACE safety standards.
4. Able to read and interpret blueprints, schedules, and specifications.
5. OSHA 30, EM-385, CPR, First Aid are the minimum certifications for consideration.
6. Minimum 5 years field experience as an SSHO, or safety officer in construction with minimum 1 year experience on NAVFAC and or USACE projects.
7. Physically capable of performing inspections, safety in construction work areas under construction working conditions for construction divisions.
8. Able to maintain detailed records of safety inspections, training, incident reports, and meetings.
9. Able to participate in meetings with clients or regulatory agencies related to site safety.
10. MS Office, Teams, RMS, ECMS, MS Project, P-6 experience strongly preferred.
11. A degree in construction management, or related field, is a plus but not required with proof of 10 plus years in construction management with safety supervision.
