Title: Activity Coordinator

As the Activity Coordinator at Nazareth House-San Diego, you’ll be the driving force behind creating and delivering engaging daily activities that bring joy, connection, and purpose to our residents' lives. Your role is central to fostering a vibrant and supportive community, meeting residents’ physical, cognitive, and social needs through dynamic group and individual programs. With personal interaction at the core, you’ll build meaningful connections, adapt to evolving needs, and collaborate with staff to make every day impactful for those we serve.
What You’ll Do:
Plan and implement engaging daily, weekly, and monthly activity schedules designed to meet the diverse interests, abilities, and needs of residents, including those with dementia.
Encourage residents to participate in group and individual activities, providing personalized support to promote inclusion and engagement.
Organize special events, celebrations, and resident council meetings to foster a sense of community and enhance residents' overall well-being.
Collaborate with care teams, families, and external partners to ensure activities align with residents' wellness goals and introduce meaningful programs.
Lead, train, and support a team of activity assistants and volunteers to deliver high-quality programs and interactions.
Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements to create a secure and supportive environment for residents.
Adapt and refine activities to meet residents’ evolving needs, promoting physical, cognitive, and emotional wellness.
Continuously evaluate and improve activity offerings to maintain a vibrant, enriching program that enhances quality of life.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field.
