VCC is an equal opportunity employer.ResponsibilitiesAssist in advancing public policy efforts through advocacy and education. Coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, implementation and evaluation of program strategies working with a variety of audiences including community members, parents, students, community groups, partner agencies, public officials and other VCC staff.Work to broaden community engagement in public policy efforts Provide group and individual information, education, training, consultation and referrals to target populations, in accordance with program guidelines and/or as directed by SupervisorIdentify key individuals and groups in the community to recruit for program goals and serve as a liaison between them and the agencyEffectively communicate program messages through in-person meetings, presentations, emails, interviews and other public forms of communicationCoordinate and seek regular consultation with local and statewide partners and funders to increase coordination and training in the region and implement efforts to ensure diverse, engaged community membersIdentify cultural preferences and practices of target population related to their needsAttend and serve as a representative at professional meetings QualificationsMinimum QualificationsHigh school graduate equivalentMinimum of five years’ community education experience, or equivalent combination of education and experienceValid California driver’s license, vehicle insurance and reliable transportationPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree with minimum one year experience in community alcohol, tobacco, or other drug preventionRequired Skills/Knowledge/AbilitiesRequired to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekendsAbility to present information accurately and effectively both verbally and in writing to individuals and groupsStrong verbal and written skills necessary for communication with program staff and clientsPay Range$20.00 - $22.00PI240001183 Apply
