VCC is an equal opportunity employer.ResponsibilitiesConduct outreach and provide HIV health education, counseling and testing servicesWork with individuals to assess individual risk and needs, enrolling those appropriate into an individualized risk reduction programInternal and external program reportingOversee completion of program objectives and recommend changes in scope as neededServe as liaison and assist with collaborative support activities with community agencies, local government representatives and other VCC project staffQualificationsMinimumHigh school diploma or equivalent with four years of experience in community education and/or direct patient servicesValid California driver’s license, current vehicle insurance and reliable transportationBilingual English/SpanishAbility and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekendsPreferredB.A./B.S. degree or A.A. degree with 2 years of experience in community educationExperience assisting clients in social services and health care access; knowledge and experience providing HIV/AIDS education and informationWorking knowledge of medical terminology as it relates to HIV diseaseRequired Skills/Knowledge/AbilitiesKnowledge of HIV-related social and emotional issues, demonstrated competency in working with culturally diverse, low income or no income clientsPreferred skills include demonstrated competency working with LGBTQ, persons in recovery, homeless individuals, and other marginalized populationsAbility to present information accurately and effectively both verbally and in writing to individuals and groupsGood verbal and written skills necessary for communication with patients/clients, providers and other staffExperience/familiarity with computers, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), business e-mail communication systems and internet search capabilitiesPay Range$21.00 - $23.00PI249478653 Apply
