ResponsibilitiesSupports physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and/or nurses by taking vitals, assisting in medical examinations and other specific procedures, and providing translation services. As a Float, cover varying shifts and locations within various clinics and/or the VCC mobile medical van and may include evening and/or Saturday schedulesPrint and review schedule daily in preparation for the dayPrepare patients for examination and assist clinicians with the examination and/or procedureTake vital signs, height and weight of patients; plot growth charts; record immunizationsPerform simple laboratory and screening tests customarily performed in a medical office such as visual acuity, audiometric screening, Snellen tests, spirometry tests and EKG’sSet up appropriate instrument trays for special proceduresPerform laboratory and screening tests customarily performed in a medical office such as visual acuity, audiometric screening, Snellen tests, spirometry tests and EKG’s Give counseling, care and follow-up instructions, health education and materials to patients as instructed by provider QualificationsMinimumHigh school graduate or equivalentBilingual English/SpanishClinical Medical Assistant Certification indicating completion of program from an approved school or hospitalMinimum five years’ back office or three years’ specialty practice experienceCurrent CPR certificationPhlebotomy certificationValid California driver’s license, vehicle insurance and reliable transportationRequired Skills/Knowledge/AbilitiesKnowledge of community health centers, public assistance programs, state and federal regulations and managed care systemsExcellent verbal and written skills necessary for communication with patients/clients, providers and other staffExcellent customer service skills and commitment to providing the highest level of customer satisfactionEmergency response capabilities for possible crisis situationAbility to function in a fast-paced, noisy environmentExperience/familiarity with computers, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), business e-mail, communication systems and internet search capabilitiesPay Range$23.00 - $27.00 (inclu. $1.00 extra float pay)PI239489525 Apply
