Compensation: $57-60 hourly; Compensation based on experience.
Responsibilities:
Ideal candidates will have experience with Open Dental, Cavitron ultrasonics, intraoral photography and digital x-ray technology. Candidates should be up to date on all terminology and be comfortable in all types of cleaning procedures and coding.
In our office, the dental hygienist would be responsible for 6-10 patients a day. Must be punctual, detail-oriented, able to multitask, flexible with hours, and maintain infection control and OSHA protocols. Along with prophylaxis and scaling/root planing, our hygiene staff provide Chlorhexidine, fluoride varnishes and occasional sealant placements.
Recares and prophy appts are scheduled for an hour. Hygienists are responsible for digital x-rays, intraoral photos, oral cancer screening, full mouth periodontal probing, exam with doctor, and the appropriate cleaning based on the periodontal exam. Prophylaxis is scheduled for 30-45 mins for children. Hygienists schedule their own follow-up appointments to allow enough time for individual patients, depending on needs. All scaling and root planing patients are scheduled for 3-4MRC periodontal maintenances, and are referred to Periodontist if no improvements are observed.
Qualifications:
Able to stand up for long periods of time to administer dental exams and procedures
Superb customer service and communication skills
Possesses a state license to practice dental hygiene
At least 1-2 years of work experience as a dental hygienist preferred
Must have at least an associate’s degree in dental hygiene; bachelor’s degree preferred
