Are you patient, caring, and enthusiastic about making a difference in someone’s life? We’re looking for a compassionate individual to provide one-on-one support to a 21 year old young man with autism and bipolar disorder in in home and in the community. We need someone who is able to be flexible and understand his needs, and who is open minded. The person you will be supporting is living an alterative lifestyle and is passionate about underground punk and metal music and fashion. He requires support in all areas of life, and we can offer shifts of 4-5 hours per day, up to 7 days a week. Schedule is flexible and location is subject to change, as this young man is currently staying in an extended stay motel. Must be okay with pets, as he has a small dog.
What You’ll Do:
Support him in his daily routines, personal goals and hygiene care
Provide companionship, encouragement, and respectful care
Help foster independence, inclusion, and a safe environment
Communicate clearly with team members and families
Assist with daily living activities
Take him out in the community for a variety of activities and errands
