We have an immediate opening at our multi-specialty outpatient surgery center for a primary position of surgery scheduler and support/back-up as insurance verification specialist to join our incredible team!
JOB SUMMARY -
PRIMARY ROLE: Surgery Scheduling: This position is responsible for approving and coordinating scheduling requests from several physician offices and will need to have open, effective communication with the Center’s management team, physician offices, patients, anesthesia partners, and other internal team members. This position will surgical case details and enter patient demographics. The scheduler will also work closely with the clinical director and material’s specialist to avoid equipment and resource conflicts. S/He will be responsible for navigating surgery timing and coordination with physician offices through strong relationships with the offices. S/He will also participate in helping to coordinate with materials management regarding required implants, equipment, and/or supplies needed for scheduled cases in order to properly plan and calculate allowable and patient responsibility accurately.
SECONDARY ROLE: Pre-Surgery Verification: This role will obtain, verify, and enter insurance information and authorizations into the Center’s scheduling system. S/He will perform insurance verification and determine patient financial responsibility based on insurance contracts using documentation of benefits, patient information and any other financial information obtained. S/He will then provide financial counseling by notifying patients of their financial obligation prior to the scheduled date of surgery, explaining insurance coverage, patient responsibility, and any other fees.

QUALIFICATIONS -
· Understanding of medical terminology and CPT and ICD code selection required
· Ability to maintain strictest confidentiality and adhere to all HPIAA guidelines and regulations
· Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience required
· Ability to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet high-paced demand
· Excellent multi-tasker
· Show a genuine desire to work and improve the Center as a whole
· Basic computer skills
· Must be a high school graduate
· Is flexible, reliable, productive, patient oriented, and self-motivated
· Conduct behavior in alignment with the Center’s mission of upstanding can and professionalism in a state-of-the art facility

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
