We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team at Orfila as a Porter/Handyman.
The Handyman/Porter is responsible for maintaining the property's cleanliness, safety, and functionality, ensuring that all areas are in good repair and well-presented. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and cleaning tasks to keep the premises in top condition, including both indoor and outdoor spaces. The ideal candidate should be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks around the property, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
- Ensure all common areas, restrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces are clean, tidy, and well-maintained. Regularly empty trash bins, sweep, mop, and sanitize surfaces.
- Perform basic landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, watering, and removing debris to keep outdoor areas neat and presentable.
- Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, or other issues that need attention.
- Respond promptly to maintenance and repair requests from tenants or management and prioritize tasks based on urgency.
- Ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working order and properly stored. Report any equipment that requires repair or replacement.
- Help set up and break down equipment or furniture for events, meetings, or daily operational needs.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned by Management.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of maintenance or handyman experience
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work outdoors
- Good communication skills
Work Hours:
- Flexible, including weekends and holidays.
