Delivery Driver & Helper.
This position is responsible for assisting all employees in the store.The Delivery Drivers & Helpers’s main responsibility is to interface with employees and customers on several projects at one time and make sure they are performed safely, timely and profitably. The Delivery Drivers & Helpers receive and check in rugs, creating tags and inventory numbers, help and move rugs to the appropriate locations, help and show rugs under the salesperson’s direction when working with customers, deliver rugs to the customers location and follow the customer’s direction on placing the rugs in their facility, clean the store and clean the rugs assigned to them by the floor manager. Support Rug cleaning operations as needed.
BASIC FUNCTION
Checking in new rugs, tagging these rugs and placing them in the right section of the store in a timely manner under the direction of the floor manager.
Assisting the salespeople as they work with customers to find these customers the best rugs for their needs.
Keep the store clean and neat at all times immediately putting rugs back into inventory when the customers are finished making their decisions with the salespeople.
Stay on top of cleaning the rugs assigned by the floor manager.
Deliver the assigned rugs to the customers in a timely manner the day these deliveries are scheduled.
Call the customers out for delivery each day ahead of time to ensure they will be able to receive the rugs or have different directions for the driver for the rug deliveries.
Call the office after every delivery to confirm each task has been done during the delivery day.
Courtesy to the customers at their location is as important as showing courtesy to customers while they are in the store.
Must have a clean drivers license & auto insurance.
Must be capable of driving safely and follow all driving rules.
When delivery the rugs directly to the customer’s location, ensure the rugs are handled in a professional manner and you satisfy the customer’s wishes on how to handle the rugs and their furniture.
Be on time for work and work the assigned schedule. If you encounter down time, get with the floor manager immediately for a new assignment.
Ability to work long hours on any day.
Interacts well with both the store personnel and the customers.
Always comply with all company policies and maintains a level of professionalism.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
The Qualifications & Skills of the Delivery Drivers & Helpers include, but are not limited to the following:
Strong background and experience in furniture or rug sales support.
Self-starter and detail-oriented - The Delivery Drivers & Helpers possess strong interpersonal skills, have a solid understanding of how the salespeople need their help in presenting rugs to customers and have a positive attitude in dealing with any type of customer.
Ability to maintain a level of professionalism and maintain confidentiality in sensitive situations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Professional personal presentation.
Proficient in operating a computer.
Strong communication skills to work with the customers and employees.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION
Required: High School or the equivalent. Industry training in furniture or rugs.
Preferred: Additional technical school certifications and experience in preparing rugs and furniture for sale.
EXPERIENCE
Required: 1 year of furniture or rugs warehouse experience.
Required: Ability to quickly evaluate an issue on the job and identify how to solve the problems using resources available through the company
PHYSICAL

BODY POSITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
BODY MOVEMENTS: The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects at the job site and the ability for bending, climbing, reaching, and crouching.
BODY SENSES: Must have command of all five senses, sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from close up job projects to events directly effecting the job down the road as well as going from computer screens to work on the job.
STRENGTH: Must have the ability to lift 75 pounds with regularity.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position will be working indoors and outdoors in a noisier environment along a major street that may be in inclement weather.

The Delivery Drivers & Helpers shall be deemed to be performing in an acceptable manner when the following have been accomplished:
Meets or exceeds the expectations of the Floor Manager and Owners.
Attendance and punctuality are exceptional
Phones and emails from the company are answered in a timely manner.
Projects given by the Floor Manager are finished in the time allocated.
Demonstrates teamwork and cooperation with others throughout the organization.
Able to function in a multi-tasking environment with minimal problems
