Field Welder
Metro Steel is a family owned and operated business that has been manufacturing and distributing quality products for over 25 years. We are looking for a Field Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in welding and fabricating metal products.
Looking for an AWS Certified Welder with experience in shop and field to help achieve the precise and complete erection of the required structural steel. Pay upon experience.
Qualifications
Must be able to accurately read a tape measure
Must be able to safely operate equipment (reach lifts/boom lifts/scissor lifts) at the jobsites
Must be able to drive work trucks (welding trucks & Flatbeds) Must have a valid driver's license in good standing
Must be able to safely lift up to 50lbs and occasionally more than 50lbs with assistance
Must be able to read and interpret structural steel erection plans and shop drawings
Often required to communicate with general contractor and other trades to complete the tasks
Must have reliable transportation to shop and/or jobsites
Occasional overtime is required without notice
Occasional travel and stay overnight for work in Orange County
Often working hot or inclement weather
Ability to work with a team
