Job title: Technician / Helper (Hazmat & Industrial Services) - Ayudante
Division/Department: Haz-Mat Department
Reports to: Superintendent
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Driver Helper
Assists with overall awareness while driving and guides the Driver whenever backing up a vehicle and truck operation
Work with power washers to clean tanks/tankers and trailers
Other duties as assigned.
Technician
Load/ unload transformers, drums, equipment from and into flatbeds and trailers.
Assists in retrieval or cleanup of impacted materials.
Sweep, clean and/or shovel materials
Confirm all necessary equipment and supplies are in your gear truck.
Perform general housekeeping and maintenance of the offices, warehouses, yards and vehicles.
Perform related duties as assigned by superintendent, dispatch or supervisor
Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customer's supervisor
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
Ability to wear a respirator as needed
Ability to work a flexible work schedule including overtime and weekends
Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening
Valid Driver's License with a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company standards
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
