Boutique Disability Rights Firm seeks an experienced paralegal to join our office. We are searching for someone who understands the complexities of federal, state and administrative cases to assist our growing firm. Our candidate must have a paralegal certificate, a minimum of 5 years of experience and be able to work full-time. Hybrid option may be available with 3 days in the office and 2 days work from home.
Required Skills and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Client Communication and Case Management
Legal Research and Writing
Preparing Letters and Emails to Clients and Opposing Counsel
Preparing Court Forms and Pleadings, such as financial disclosure documents, motions, discovery, and other pleadings
Familiarization with state and federal e-filing procedures
Coordinating Service of Process and Court Filings
File Maintenance and Organization
Propounding and Responding to Discovery
New Client Intakes and Scheduling Consultations
Calendaring Hearing Dates and Deadlines
Candidate should be professional, friendly, and detail oriented. Growth mindset is a necessity. Must be able to work well with clients from the inception of the case to the conclusion of their matter. Candidate should have a strong knowledge of court rules, civil procedures, financial disclosure requirements, and discovery procedures.
Candidate should also be able to track deadlines and tasks, be resourceful, be able to work independently and complete work at a fast pace. Additional skills include the ability to operate Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Box and Dropbox.
Candidate should also have excellent communication and writing skills.
