Law Eagles has an immediate opening for an experienced Litigation Paralegal in Mission Valley. The primary focus of law is insurance bad faith, which is representing policyholders in claims against their insurance carriers related to damages to their homes and businesses. The ideal candidate must have at least four years of Paralegal experience.
Law Eagles consists of two attorneys, a legal assistant and a law clerk. We offer a friendly. Business casual environment, with a competitive salary. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
This is a 100% in-person role, based in Mission Valley and the candidate must be a qualified Paralegal in accordance with California BPC § 6450.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Manage and organize large caseloads
Draft, format, edit, and proofread legal documents with high attention to detail
Conduct law and motion research
Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit preparation and indexing
Calendaring of key litigation deadlines, hearings, and appointments to ensure timely preparation and filings
E-filing documents with state and federal courts
Investigation and legal research
Skills and Qualifications:
A minimum of 4 years of recent experience in civil litigation, with pre-trial experience being a required skill.
Experience in insurance litigation is preferred
Bachelor's degree (preferred)
ABA approved Paralegal certificate (required)
Solid organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Able to take direction but also work independently with little or no supervision.
Strong writing skills, ability to write clearly and professionally.
Knowledge of legal terminology, federal and state rules of legal procedure.
Ability to manage voluminous files and exhibits.
Ability to track and identify deadlines across multiple cases and clients, and to prioritize assigned tasks and duties to ensure deadlines are met.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Adobe.
Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with attorneys, staff, and clients.
Must exhibit discretion in handling confidential information and communicate with courtesy and tact.
Excellent grammar, proofreading, and English composition skills.
Must be enthusiastic, articulate, quick to learn, friendly, and dependable
Be able to type 50+ words per minute
What We Offer: Salary Range: $54,080 - $70,720 per year ($26.00/hr – $34.00/hr) Commensurate with Experience
