Assembly Operator I

Outstanding technology company producing inventory management solutions seeks candidate to perform assembly on electro-mechanical devices ranging in size from a desktop computer to a refrigerator. This individual uses an assortment of hand and power tools including hand and powered screw drivers, drills, wrenches, nut drivers, torque wrenches, ground continuity tester, hi-pot tester, etc. Electro-static sensitive components are included in the assembly process and ESD safe practices are required. A series of assembly, process and safety procedures are used to instruct for assembly, operational procedure and safe practice.

Responsibilities:

This is an entry level position, working under significant supervision. This position is responsible for gaining, maintaining and practicing proficiency on the assembly and configuration of production product. On a daily basis, the Assembly Operator I is to coordinate with the shift lead to understand and support build priorities. This position is responsible for following the assembly, process and safety procedures related to the assigned work with attention to detail, quality and safety. In addition to the assembly work, the Assembly Operator I is the first to ensure quality on any build. In-process inspection is performed by this individual to verify a correct build.

Work hours 5:00AM-1:30PM

Duties:

Mechanical assembly including the following:

-Fastening and fitment of sheet metal components for large cabinets.

-Small assembly work requiring dexterity and handling of small parts.

-Application of adhesives, thread locker and/or grease.

-Visual and manual inspection of finished work to ensure assembly is in spec.

Electrical assembly including the following:

-Box build of electrical assemblies using the following components single board computer (SBC), LCD display screens, printed circuit assemblies (PCA), power supplies, motors, cable assemblies, etc.

-Occasional cable work, cutting to length, connectorizing, etc.

-Visual, manual, and functional inspection of finished work to ensure assembly is within specification.

-System set up and configuration including the following:

-Final assembly of major components according to customer order specifications.

-Installation of cabling and interconnecting electrical assemblies.

-Interaction with system software to perform initial setup and check out.

-Visual, manual, functional, and electrical inspection of completed system to ensure conformity with specification.

Support the assembly operational processes including the following:

-Understand and become proficient in the assembly processes for the assigned tasks.

-Understand and practice the safety processes.

-Understand and practice the material handling and ESD processes.

-Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Requirements and Experience:

-0-2 years’ experience in electro-mechanical assembly.

-High school diploma or GED equivalent.

-Able to read and understand the English language.

-Able to read and follow assembly instructions for building electro-mechanical devices.

-Able to stand and walk in production areas throughout an entire 8-hour shift.

-Able to lift and carry 30 pounds.

-Able to work in a teamwork environment.

-Have basic computer skills to perform work in emails, electronic documents, and web interfaces.

-Have working knowledge of use of common hand tools.
