We are seeking a Senior CNC Mill Machinist for precision 3- and 4-axis work. You will own setup, workholding, first-article validation, and production execution. No CAM programming required — we will provide proven programs/paths. You must be strong at setup & metrology.
Responsibilities
Setup CNC mills, zero and tram vises, set work offsets & tool lengths
Verify programs, dry run, confirm tool path safety
Run first article + prove-out parts prior to release to production
Execute in-process inspection and document critical features
Communicate tooling or fixturing recommendations to engineering / CAM
Maintain part traceability and shop discipline
Requirements
7+ years CNC milling setup experience
Fully comfortable reading prints, GD&T, and machining strategy
Must understand high mix / low volume work
Able to hold tight tolerances: ±0.0005" typical on critical dims
Strong knowledge of carbide cutting tools, high-efficiency milling concepts, and basic surface finish science
Needs extensive experience with 6061 and some experience in 316L stainless
Nice to Have
4th axis trunnion or tombstone experience
Experience with stainless, nickel alloys, aluminum castings, etc.
