We are seeking a Consumer Goods Product Development & Production Manager to lead our growing team. We are a small and highly-creative consumer product development company. We are a consumer goods company specializing in consumer goods manufactured overseas. We are a full-cycle company with expertise ranging from prototyping to finished product (and everything in between). Our goods are marketed and sold through large retail chains and television media.
Responsibilities:
Lead the team on the creation of new products and product revisions
Communicate with overseas (primarily China) manufacturers from product initiation through shipping
Lead the team and manufacturers to trouble-shoot production and QA issues
Create and manage project and task schedules for all product projects
Manage production workflow and resources to meet project requirements and deadlines
Participate in cross-team planning and collaboration
Meet with clients and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate progress to the team
Understand internal business processes and quality standards; be willing to contribute to process refinement and workflow optimization
Requirements
Detailed understanding of consumer goods manufacturing (overseas - not domestic) methodologies and processes from concept through launch
Strong knowledge and experience with common software programs like Google Drive, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Outlook, etc., must be comfortable with learning new tools and programs
10+ years experience in similar position involving consumer products
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor Degree required
Strong Communication Skills - must be articulate, creative & compelling in both verbal & written communication
Creativity/Positivity/Fun Attitude - we deal with innovative products for the consumer goods industry, and you should be motivated and find creative solutions
Ability to switch gears quickly and wear different hats in a small company setting
Quick Learning & Flexible - being able to quickly and smoothly transition between tasks
Excellent computer skills (MS Office) and a high degree of organization are imperative. Candidate will need to have a strong emphasis on bridging any gaps, focusing on loose ends or details overlooked. Experience with overseas manufacturing and large retail chain environments required. Ideal person will have the availability to make phone calls to China during irregular business hours. Candidate must be able to lift 25 pounds.
