ISO 9001:2015 Administrator / Mechanical Quality Assurance Inspector

Experienced ISO 9001:2015 Administrator / Mechanical Quality Assurance Inspector needed. Under moderate supervision oversees all aspects of ISO conformance acting as company representative for the certification bodies. Maintains company forms/documents, performs internal audits, conducts employee ISO trainings and all tasks related to ISO.

Additionally, performs varied tasks associated with visual and dimensional inspection, from first article through final inspection, required in the fabrication of components and assemblies, bonded parts and other miscellaneous accessories.

Key Responsibilities

Administers and maintains all ISO 9001:2015 processes, procedures, forms/documents to maintain compliance.

Conduct visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to appropriate personnel, including machine operators

Works from engineering drawings, general or written instructions, inspection check sheets, standard inspection directives and procedures to confirm specifications and ensure compliance with customer and company quality requirements per departmental procedures for approval of finished product

Performs in-process, final inspection, and test operations to assure quality standards for component quality of workmanship and functional performance.

Inspects components or tooling dimensions such as; locations, concentricity's, parallelism, height, angles and squareness using precision measuring equipment such as; gages, calipers, scales, micrometers to ensure compliance with customer and company quality requirements per departmental procedures.

Proficient in use of precision inspection tools such as CMM and Optical Comparators

Documents data obtained during all quality inspection activities, consistent with company policies and procedures

Maintain and control the required product contamination/containment procedures

Refers unusual or unacceptable conditions to Supervisor.

Participates in continual improvement efforts, supporting and implementing new ideas

Recommends changes in standards, techniques and procedures as warranted.

Maintains a positive and respectful attitude

Accepts responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge with other employees

Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Maintains good attendance and punctuality

Job Requirements

Working knowledge of and experience with ISO 9001:2015 is required

Attention to detail is imperative

Experience in a manufacturing environment (CNC Machining/Welding)

CMM programming using OPEN-DMIS software

Demonstrate competency in using calipers, micrometers and comparators in addition to normal inspection equipment

Excellent math and measuring skills

Exhibits good cooperation and communication skills to effectively work within a team environment

Effectively gives and receives feedback; willingly asks questions and seeks direction as needed

Perform inspections on finished and in-process machined parts and documents results

Prepare and maintain required records

Work with Manufacturing to provide results of in-process part inspection

Knows and adheres to all safety requirements; strives to maintain a safe work environment and reports potential hazards to management

Maintains acceptable level of cleanliness in the work area

Education

High School diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience & Qualifications

Must show knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards

Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions required.

Ability to work independently, using manufacturing sketches or engineering drawings desired.

Ability to use simple measuring instruments such as tape measures, micrometers, scales, calipers and gages required.

Requires ability to set up and operate CMM. Requires intermediate math skills involving decimals and fractions and its application to drawings, sketches and measuring instruments

Basic computer literacy is desired

Must be willing to work as a team player, as well as independently

Mental and Physical Demands

Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions

Manual dexterity

Ability to stand for long periods of time

Lift up to 50 pounds

Withstand loud noise of a machine shop environment

Good vision with correction
