Canvas Concepts, Inc. is an established 25-year-old company in Chula Vista specializing in high-quality custom canvas product fabrication. We make awnings, tarps, covers, shades, and many other custom items.
The Manufacturing Assistant / Driver:
Helps in the manufacturing shop and also handles local deliveries and pickups when needed.
NOTE: This is not a driving-only job position.
In the shop:
⦁ Assists sewing machine and fabric welding operators by holding and moving fabric through the process. Materials include cotton canvas, acrylic, reinforced vinyl, nylon, and leather.
⦁ Other tasks include measuring, inspecting, folding, packaging, installing grommets or fasteners, moving fabrics and assemblies within the building.
⦁ Use equipment like pallet jacks, hand trucks.
⦁ Staging order items for delivery.
Driving and Delivery / Pickup:
⦁ Operates a company delivery vehicle (pickup truck or similar) to transport materials and finished products locally.
⦁ Performs basic vehicle checks before and after driving.
⦁ Loads and unloads items safely and helps with deliveries at customer sites.
⦁ Follows all traffic laws and company safety rules.
⦁ Keeps simple delivery and pickup records.
Requirements:
⦁ Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record (DMV record checks will be done).
⦁ Experience using scissors, knives, fasteners, templates, and measuring tools.
⦁ Ability to read and follow written job orders.
⦁ Able to lift and handle materials weighing 40–50 lbs.
⦁ Dependable and willing to learn.
Hours: M – F, Full Time – 40/hr a week available.
