RESPONSIBILITIES
The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing activities on the production floor, knowledgeable about all activities in relation to production in a sheet metal fabrication environment. The Production Supervisor directly supports the company in meeting its goals by ensuring that production quotas and product Quality Assurance to maintain our clientele satisfied. This position requires strong customer service skills, supervisory skills, motivational skills, and negotiating skills. Uses time effectively and efficiently; values time; concentrates efforts on most important priorities. Is proactive and productive, more done in less time than others; can attend to a broad range of activities.
Production:
Utilize MRP - MIE Trak to manage all production operations
Ensure that production employees are properly using MRP- MIE Trak in order to protect the integrity of data.
Identify areas for improvement in regards to MRP - MIE Trak
Work with planning, estimating, and inventory to ensure that operations flow smoothly
Ensures that monthly production goals are met
Conducts meetings with department supervisors
Provides regular updates to management
Recommends changes and improvements to support goal achievement
Establish master schedule to ensure that orders are fulfilled in a timely manner based on customer ship dates
Plan sequence of fabrication, assembly, and other manufacturing processes to ensure efficient operations
Work with department supervisors to meet deadlines and ensure quality
Expedite orders as needed and alter the schedule to reflect changing priorities
Ensure that the production floor is clean, orderly, and safe
Ensure that employees are able to safely operate and use all required equipment
Assist with the implementation of the company safety program
Recommend improvements for workplace safety
Ensure that employees remain on task and are properly utilized
Ensure that each day’s activities are well planned and defined to minimize employee downtime
Ensure overtime approval only for appropriate tasks
Develop process improvements to improve efficiency and reduce cost
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or Equivalent. 3 to 5 years’ experience in a related field required.
