Operator may have knowledge of other types of computer numeric controlled (CNC) production equipment such as Punch Press, Brake Press, Shear, Laser, Saw, or other machinery.

Essential Job Functions:
As a Press Brake Operator, your daily responsibilities revolve around the use of a specialized machine that manipulates metal sheets into various shapes and sizes. Your job demands an excellent understanding of metalworking processes, and you should be able to operate and maintain machines used for bending, cutting, and shaping metal sheets.
Press Brake operator must analyze blueprints or specifications to determine appropriate machines, tools, and dies to use while also ensuring conformity to product standards. The job also requires that you inspect all materials to verify their specifications and that they meet the company’s quality standards. It is your responsibility to load and unload materials, set up and adjust machine settings to specific requirements, and calibrate the equipment to achieve the desired bending specifications.
As a Press Brake Operator, you must be able to carry out preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues. You would be required to follow safety protocols and procedures while operating the machine to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
Understands commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in manufacturing
Physically able to safely handle the material requiring machining and other tools necessary to complete job
Accurately completes traveler paperwork and computer data entry in Freeberg’s production and planning software enterprise system to reflect work completed and distributes the parts according to traveler and customer’s requirements
Ability (or aptitude to learn) to read manufacturing drawings
Maintains equipment in proper working order, performs routine calibration and maintenance as required
Will utilize and follow Freberg’s Injury Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Quality Management System (QMS), and ISO9001:2015 rules and procedures as they apply to their role in safety and quality
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field and/or related area
Abilities Required
Work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, respiratory equipment, steel-toed shoes, and/or other appropriate protective clothing
Work in an outdoor (non-air conditioned / non-heated) industrial shop environment
Work well with others with strong teamwork skills
Able to read, write, and understand English - communicating effectively to other workers
Competent in basic shop math and able to read and understand part drawing requirements
Clarity of near, far, and peripheral vision (wear glasses or contacts as necessary if required)
Able to hear and distinguish speech and other non-verbal sounds
Maintain area of work and shop clean and free of debris
Frequently and safely squat, crouch, crawl, kneel, lean, bend, stoop, twist, turn, grasp, and reach
Frequently and safely go from standing to walking to sitting for at least 8 hours per day
Maintain balance and climb safely and unaided ramps, stairs, stools, and ladders up to 16 ft. as necessary
Frequently and safely lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
Able to obtain training and a license to safely operate overhead cranes (2.5 and/or 5 ton)
Able to obtain training and a license to safely operate forklifts (6000#, and/or 15000#, and/or 25000#)
Safely maintain and use job-required tools in the form of gross and fine manipulative motor movements
Must be legally able to work in the United States, EVerify compliant.
Must pass drug screening.
Must pass a background check.
