Production Test Technician I

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

-Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies as needed.

-Determines and may develop test specifications, methods, and procedures from blueprints, drawings, and diagrams.

-Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems. May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing.

-Assembles Test setups for a variety of Printed Circuit Boards. May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.

-Sets up standard test apparatus or devices, test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional and operational testing to evaluate performance of production Printed Circuit boards.

-Operates equipment to assemble, dice, clean, mount, bond, and package integrated circuit device.

-Assemble and rework Printed Wiring Boards that contain both through-hole and surface mount devices to include size 0402 components. Using a microscope and soldering equipment to class 3 and class 2 specifications.

-Assists in interpretation and evaluation of processing data and in preparation of related reports.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate or compute ohms law, power, and reactants.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

-High School Graduate or Equivalent

-Minimum 6 months of electronics technician experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Soldering skills for Surface Mount Technology (SMT). Certification preferred.
