Position Overview:
We are seeking a Farm Helper and Master Grower to support our farm and sanctuary. This person will be responsible for managing fruit trees, integrating diverse edible plants, and supporting farm maintenance using regenerative and permaculture practices. The position also involves animal care and general farm maintenance tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
Managing fruit trees and food forests.
Designing and maintaining permaculture planting plans.
Weeding, digging trenches, building fences, and planting trees and gardens.
Picking and processing food.
Setting up water catchment systems and composting.
Selling farm produce at farmers' markets or to wholesalers.
Traits & Skills Required:
Honest, hardworking, organized, and consistent.
Strong communication skills.
Experience with growing, permaculture, and edible landscaping.
Composting experience.
General farm maintenance skills.
Must be physically strong, as farm work can be demanding.
Compensation:
Pay: $20 per hour.
Housing: $1,200/month credit for housing in a brand-new container home.
Hours: 15 to 30 hours per week, with a flexible schedule. Hours for animal care are approximately 10-20 hours per week and can vary.
Commission: Option for commission on sales of produce to distributors or farmers' markets.
This position could be full-time or part-time depending on the right candidate’s needs and availability. We can tailor the schedule to fit both parties.
Experience:
Must have experience in permaculture or edible landscaping.
