We are a Southern California-based company that provides and services medical life support systems for the healthcare industry. Since 1977, our team has been dedicated to delivering high-quality equipment and ensuring healthcare facilities have the reliable systems they need to operate efficiently. As we continue to grow, we are looking to expand our team and are seeking a motivated, career-minded individual to fill the position of Outside Service Technician. This role involves performing a variety of tasks, including repairs, maintenance, installations, and service calls on medical air compressors, vacuum pumps, and related systems.

Technician Responsibilities:

An Outside Service Technician is responsible for traveling to various healthcare facilities across the San Diego and Los Angeles areas to provide hands-on service and maintenance for medical life support equipment. Daily tasks include:

- Routine/Preventative Maintenance: Carry out routine preventative maintenance tasks, including oil and filter changes, to maintain the performance and durability of medical air and vacuum systems.

- Service and Repair: Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing medical air compressors, vacuum pumps, and related systems on-site at healthcare facilities.

- Equipment Installation and Removal: When needed, install or remove medical equipment, ensuring it meets all safety and operational standards.

- Panel Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot analog or PLC control panels when needed, ensuring systems are running smoothly.

- Collaborative Support: Work closely with other employees, assisting on-site or in-house when required, and providing support to the team when necessary.

- Forklift Operation: Safely operate a forklift when moving or offloading equipment.

- Vehicle Maintenance: A dedicated service vehicle and company gas card is provided after the training period. Keep company vehicle in good working order by performing routine checks such as air pressure, oil levels, and water levels. Responsible for coordinating vehicle maintenance for routine maintenance and service.

- Workplace Organization and Safety: Continually assess the environment and work areas for new opportunities, safety hazards, and maintenance needs.

- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with customers, colleagues, and supervisors through phone and email.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for someone with strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, particularly with pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Familiarity with plumbing is a plus. Good communication skills and a professional appearance are important when interacting with customers regularly. Some heavy lifting will be required. Outside Service Technicians are expected to provide their own basic mechanical hand tools after the training period.

Other requirements include:

- A valid California driver’s license and clean DMV record are mandatory - please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements.

- Successful completion of drug testing and background checks is required, as access to secure hospital premises is necessary.

- Our work environments are non-smoking, including the vehicles and hospital sites.

Experience with the following other industries could cross-over to this position:

Prior outside field service technician position - pump and/or motor rebuild, maintenance and repair - automotive engine rebuilds, maintenance and repair – dental air or vacuum rebuilds, maintenance and repair - generator rebuilding, repairs and maintenance - experience with blower maintenance and repair – heavy machinery rebuilds, maintenance and repair

Compensation:

The starting pay for this role is $32.00 per hour during the training period. After the training period is completed, pay increases to $34.00–$36.00 per hour, depending on your experience and ability to perform successfully in the field.
