North Park Nursery is looking to hire plant nursery associates and plant technicians to join the team. Associates will work in the company’s retail nursery and plant technicians will be in the field caring for our residential and commercial accounts. Core Duties include:
Plant care: Propagating plants, transplanting, weeding, pruning, fertilizing, and watering plants
Plant health: Inspecting plants for disease or pests, and monitoring plant health
Customer service: Advising customers on plant selection and care, and assisting with purchases
Inventory: Maintaining inventory, ordering materials, and handling shipments
Maintenance: Cleaning work areas, grounds, and landscaping, and maintaining irrigation and climate control systems
Record keeping: Recording information about plants, such as size, watering, and products used
Teamwork: Working with others to accomplish nursery goals, and building trust and cooperation among team members
Communication: Communicating with people outside the organization, such as customers, the public, or government

conditions.

competencies to refine or gain new and additional skills and add to professionalism.
Physical Strength, Stamina, Dexterity, Sensory Acuity, Tolerance of Environmental Conditions:
Ability to safely lift 35 pounds regularly and safely lift 50-70 pounds periodically
during shipping season. Dexterity sufficient to operate power tools and machinery safely.
Ability to lift, bend and kneel to perform many hand operations required accomplishing normal nursery tasks.
Visual acuity sufficient to gauge plant health, insects, disease, as well as read labels, written instruction, and documentation.
Ability to tolerate working outside during cold conditions in winter as well inside the greenhouse during summer when conditions may be hotter and more humid than normal outside summer conditions.
