Selectee will be the primary person in charge of support and installation of DirecTV and Internet communication systems at multiple Naval Bases in San Diego and other military installations in California.
Responsibilities:
1) The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, installation, repair, and maintenance of DIRECTV services, ensuring top-notch customer experiences through installation, troubleshooting and answering customer inquiries.
2) As a DIRECTV Field Service Technician, you will be working both indoors and outdoors, installing and repairing DIRECTV equipment
3) This role requires strong independent work skills, along with exceptional customer service abilities, as you will educate customers on the features and benefits of DIRECTV services
4) Deliver exceptional customer service during all phases of DIRECTV system installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades.
5) Install, upgrade, and repair DIRECTV products in accordance with quality standards.
6) Travel across the region in support of hospitality communications system maintenance, and expansion scenarios. Travel time could be 30% to 40%.
7) Test DIRECTV satellite dishes and indoor equipment using specialized meters and tools.
8) Replace defective DIRECTV satellite dishes and equipment as needed.
9) Greet customers professionally and ensure installations are completed to their satisfaction.
10) Use eight-foot and twenty-eight-foot ladders for roof installations.
11) Utilize a DIRECTV meter to peak and align satellite signals.
12) Install coaxial cables and set up DIRECTV receivers.
13) Able to work at heights to install and service DIRECTV equipment, ensuring all services are fully functional.
14) Produce and maintain network documentation, including a complete list of network equipment in use, in inventory, and at all deployments. Develop standards for equipment replacement and maximize inventory control for all necessary spare parts or sources for spare equipment.
15) This position requires high-level interfacing with US government officials and requires requisite grooming standards associated with these types of government meetings and military environments.
16) This position works in and out of typical office environments to include basement and attic areas of businesses and homes, rooftop environments of businesses and homes, and other areas in which telecommunications services are found, including underground conduit.
17) Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
2 years hands-on technical experience
Must have experience with installing and troubleshooting TV systems as well as large scale RF environments
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in cable installation, telecommunications, or related field is advantageous.
Strong understanding of cabling, networking concepts, and telecommunications equipment.
Proficient in using hand and power tools for installation and repairs.
Must have the ability to lift, carry, and manipulate up to 60 lbs. Ability to work overtime as needed
Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Must maintain all safety regulations, and secure a healthy work environment by displaying and enforcing standards and complying with legal regulations, while under pressure to meet deadlines
Respect site property and people affiliated with the site.
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and occasional evenings or weekends.
Minimum 4 years experience with CAT5, cabling/wiring and wireless (preferred)
