Job Description:
As a Commercial Sheet Metal Duct Installer at the journeyman level, you will be an essential part of our installation team, responsible for the precise and efficient installation of HVAC ductwork in commercial buildings. This role requires a deep understanding of commercial HVAC systems, excellent craftsmanship in sheet metal work, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Responsibilities:
Install, repair, and maintain sheet metal ducts for commercial HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards.
Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine the layout and installation requirements.
Measure, cut, bend, and form metal sheets into components for duct systems, using tools and machinery designed for sheet metal fabrication.
Coordinate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects and to resolve any issues that arise during the installation process.
Inspect and test installations to ensure structural integrity and compliance with building codes and specifications.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company policies and safety regulations.
Mentor and provide guidance to apprentices and less experienced team members.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Duct Installer at the journeyman level, specifically within the commercial sector.
Comprehensive knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and components.
Ability to read, understand, and follow blueprints and specifications.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment for sheet metal work.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in HVAC or a related field is a plus.
Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and perform manual labor for extended periods.
