Construction assistant/Office admin

JDN Construction Inc, a growing General Contracting Construction company looking for an Office Assistant/Administrator.

JDN Construction Inc is a North San Diego based company, we primarily service North County from Carmel Valley to Fallbrook, and all areas in between. We do residential new construction home builds, additions, ADU’s and major home renovations, as well as commercial T.I.’s. We are a small company, subcontracting all trade work, with in house management.

Summary:

Construction assistant provides support to construction project managers and helps with clerical and operational tasks. This will be primarily an office position but will require project site visits occasionally as needed. Position responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Customer interaction and information intake

Scheduling and coordination of work with subcontractors and customer per project manager direction.

Completing project budget proposal spreadsheets

Working with project manager determining scopes of work for subcontractors

Procuring estimates/quotes from subcontractors and material vendors

Confirming material type, quantity and lead time with customer and vendors

Attending jobwalks with project manager

Qualifications:

Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel. Quick document formatting and typing skills are essential, including verbal dictation and transcription from written notes.

Experience with printers/scanners

Clear and effective written and spoken communication skills.

Good problem-solving skills and adaptability. Must be able to adapt to and develop a working knowledge of construction trade terminology and practices.

The nature of the work requires good analytical, procedural, and clerical skills and a thorough, detail-oriented work approach in a sometimes fast-paced environment. Candidates must be reliable and consistent with excellent communication skills and a willingness to work as a team.

Experience:

5 Years in office assistant/admin roll.

Construction knowledge is a plus.

Pay Rate: $22-28 per hour

Note: Pay is dependent on experience and ability.

Employment type:

This will start of as a part time position and transition into a full time position over a couple month period, potentially sooner.
