Job Title: HANDYMAN, MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Employment Type: Both Part-Time and Full-Time
We are hiring experienced handymen and maintenance technicians for our San Diego North County division. Both part-time and full-time employers are needed. Compensations are $30-$60 per hour for part-time (depending on experience and number of hours to complete the work), and $100K-plus for full-time employment.
Requirements. Applicants must have the enthusiasm to work and excel in the work assigned. He/she will initially be supervised by an experienced general contractor who may assist and train the applicant if such assistance or training is necessary to complete the work. Applicant must own reliable transportation and a valid California driver’s license, have a great attitude, and ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with others. and the ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
Experience. Applicant must have five years of uninterrupted verifiable experience in most, but preferably in all, of the following areas:
1. Experience in plumbing and knowledge of safety requirements in installing faucets, and disposals. The ability to remove and install sinks, and shower-valve cartridges, and repair leaks in copper, Pex, PVC, and soldering is a plus. Will train if such training is required.
2. Being able to paint, as well as install, repair, and texture drywall
3. Some basic knowledge of carpentry for repairing or installing a boundary yard fence, repairing or building backyard gates, and replacing hinges, latches, and hardware.
4. Preferably, have all the tools knowledge, and experience in various aspects of remodeling; such as rough & finish carpentry, door/window installation, baseboard/crown installation, drywall repair and installation, electrical/lighting, faucet fixtures installation, troubleshooting, replacement. Will train if needed.
5. Some knowledge of tiling and the ability to assist experienced tilers during home remodeling and home improvements. These include removing and reinstalling sinks, faucets, disposals, airgap, and other features for countertop installation. Will train if needed.
6. Knowledge of irrigation systems and ability to troubleshoot, and install irrigation timers, drip systems, emitters, and sprinklers. Will train if needed
7. Ability to install doors and related hardware such as locks, hinges, hydraulic, mechanical, or spring Door Closers
Great applicants consider themselves “handy” or “mechanically inclined, have basic to high-level handyman/maintenance skills such as plumbing, painting, electrical, door repair, carpentry, drywall repair and texturing, etc.; Like to take things apart and put them back together, Can show up to work every day, on time, Works well on their own as well as with a team. Has a good work attitude, Has a current, clean California drivers license. Work includes local general maintenance calls (plumbing, painting, drywall, electrical, carpentry, irrigation system, etc. depending on your knowledge and area of expertise) for our commercial and residential customers in San Diego North County. Work vehicle is a plus but not required to start (mileage reimbursed)
