Need experienced mender! I clean & repair horse blankets so I need someone to do the repair work. I supply all the parts & fabrics. What you need:
industrial heavy duty machine to get through the thicker winter blankets
you supply the thread ( 100% bonded nylon #69 weight) and needles
must have room to store the fabric ( several large totes) a few rolls of fabric
need space to view a 80” blanket to check for holes.
blankets are cleaned but when you open up a seam you might find shavings or horse hair, so sensitively to animals might not work.
What the job description is:
Mending , replacing chest straps, making leg straps, fixing lining tears, fixing exterior patches, sometimes double sided patches, repairing mesh fly sheets, replacing Velcro, replacing surcingles,
A lot of square patches! If you like figuring out a puzzle this job is for you.
How do you get paid?
This is a wholesale business where I need to keep prices reasonable otherwise they will buy a new blanket!
Pay is per blanket based on damage and how difficult or time consuming repair is.
Most blankets need several patches or a belly strap replaced.
You work your own schedule. I’ll let you know when I need a batch done by.
I live in Lemon Grove but cover San Diego County so your location is flexible as it’s remote work
