Position Overview
We are seeking a Lead Technician with extensive experience in vehicle gate systems to take ownership of installation, service, and troubleshooting projects. While this role may include work with access control, cameras, alarms, and automatic doors, our primary focus is on finding a candidate who is highly skilled with gate operators, entry systems, and related hardware. The ideal candidate has proven experience working with slide, swing, and barrier-arm gates, diagnosing operator issues, and leading crews on both new installs and service projects.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage installation and service crews for gate automation projects
Install, configure, and troubleshoot:
Vehicle gate operators (swing, slide, barrier arm)
Entry systems integrated with access control
Loop detectors, safety devices, and gate hardware
Automatic doors and ADA operators (as needed)
Security cameras, alarms, and access control systems (secondary focus)
Serve as the go-to field expert for vehicle gate automation projects
Train and mentor junior technicians in proper installation methods
Ensure all projects comply with safety standards and UL 325 regulations
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation manuals
Document all installations, service work, and system configurations accurately
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years’ experience with vehicle gate systems, including:
Installing and servicing gate operators (LiftMaster, All-O-Matic, HySecurity, etc.)
Troubleshooting loop detectors, safety edges, and access control integration
Experience with both residential and commercial gate automation
Proven leadership experience managing field crews
Strong problem-solving and customer communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Preferred
Manufacturer certifications (LiftMaster, All-O-Matic, HySecurity, etc.)
Experience working with HOAs, commercial properties, or large multi-site facilities
