SITE UTILITIES (WET)
General Contractor with local public works projects is now hiring crew with experience in wet utilities Excavation; Installation; Repair of Wet Utilities (Sewer, Water, Storm Drain) for public works and commercial projects. Must be skilled in excavation for pipeline trenches; must be able to either lay pipe or operate equipment.
Responsibilities:
Proficient with utility standards and requirements, experience in Sewer, Water and Storm Drains
Able to read and decipher Individual Utility Plans and Composites.
Willing to perform all aspects of job (Hand Digging, Backfill, Equipment Operation, Pipefitting, Underground Pipe Installation, Asphalt/Concrete etc.)
Ability to read and interpret grade instruments (tape measures, grade rods, levels, and lasers)
Ability to locate, avoid, and protect existing underground utilities
Basic knowledge of soil types, trenching, and shoring per OSHA regulations
Ability to work in trench boxes, in deep excavations, and in confined spaces
Trenching, V-ditches, shoring, etc.
Install, maintain, and repair components of a water service distribution system, including valves, mains, fire hydrants, and a variety of meters, gauges, and flow monitoring devices.
Locate and fix water main leaks, including repair of pipes; flush mains to clear lines and provide water clarity and provide sufficient water pressure.
Set up and work traffic control
Perform building and grounds maintenance, as assigned.
Trained in Gas Safety a plus
OSHA 30 Safety Training (or willingness to receive)
Requirements:
Clean Background Check
Current Driver’s License with clean driving record
Must speak and understand English
Experience working with pipe fittings
Experience working with Underground and Above Ground Utilities (Gas, Water, Sewer, Electrical)
Must be responsible and punctual
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. with a valid Driver's License; Must have your own transportation; Must be responsible, dependable, and punctual. Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus. Ability to read and interpret plans is a plus.
