Furniture Delivery Driver
Full job description
The Delivery Driver is responsible for the delivery, assembly and installation of merchandise to customer homes. Merchandise includes mattresses, bed frames, mechanical bases and linens. In most cases, a two person team will be responsible for the timely and safe delivery of goods by using team lifting and/or material handling equipment. Attention to detail is required so that no damage occurs to either the merchandise or the customer's property. Basic assembly and programming of the mechanical bases is part of the service provided with training included.
Candidates must have a valid State Issued Driver's License and an Insurance Company approved driving record. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age. Starting pay is up to $25.00 per hour D.O.E. Furniture delivery/installation experience preferred.
The weekly work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday.
Job Duties include:
Licensed and able to drive delivery trucks up to 20' and utilize basic GPS navigation
Properly load, protect and secure all merchandise for delivery
Verify all merchandise for each order is accounted for and properly delivered, installed and functional to the customer’s satisfaction
Follows prescribed safety procedures at all times to protect associates, customers, merchandise, and property
Use and maintain material handling equipment per process
Handle paperwork accurately and acquire any/all signatures as needed
Ensures customer satisfaction by maintaining delivery schedule and a professional attitude
Contact each customer prior to delivery and maintain customer service standards during interaction at delivery
Address and relay any customer concerns to management immediately
Interact with sales team for special instructions when applicable
Assist with warehouse tasks including loading and unloading trucks, loading customer vehicles and moving product in and out of both the warehouse and showrooms
Assists with cleaning and other housekeeping duties within the warehouse and showrooms
Performs misc duties as assigned
