JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT:
The job of School Bus Driver is done for the purpose of transporting students over scheduled routes an/or to/from special excursions; ensuring vehicle operation is in a safe operating condition; and ensuring safety of students during transport, loading and unloading from buses.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills to perform single, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions; operate school buses; administer first aid; prepare and maintain accurate records.
Knowledge of safe driving practices, bus maintenance and repair.
Ability to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with similar types of data; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment; communicate with diverse groups; maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines and schedules; work as a team; work with frequent distractions.
REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent. Must possess valid Class B California Driver License with P endorsement, California School Bus Driver Certificate, Department of Transportation Medical Examiners Certificate, and First Aid Certificate.

SALARY/BENEFITS:
Appropriate placement on the current Classified Salary Schedule, Range 21, $24.57 - $29.97 per hour. Employees receive medical, dental and life insurance; and Employee/District contribution to the Public Retirement System. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
MEDICAL EXAMINATION:
Offer of employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a pre-placement District-paid medical examination which includes drug testing, and FBI and Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance ($84.00 processing fee.) and presentation of K4 DMV printout.
