Description We are in search of a Payroll Accountant to join our team located in Santa Ana, California. As a Payroll Accountant, you will be responsible for handling payroll functions, maintaining accurate records, and submitting costs for a construction project. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Ensure accurate processing and recording of company's payroll. Handle the documentation and submission of costs related to the construction project. Utilize accounting software systems for efficient management of accounting functions. Prepare certified payroll, which forms the basis of invoicing. Perform accrual accounting tasks as per the project requirements. Maintain detailed records of all transactions and prepare reports as needed. Resolve any payroll discrepancies and ensure all payroll information is up-to-date. Monitor accounts and take necessary actions based on the project progress. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions Familiarity with Accrual Accounting Experience with Certified Payroll Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Solid problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel Experience with payroll tax at the federal, state, and local levels Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus Prior experience in a similar role is preferred Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
