POSITION

Provide solutions-oriented bookkeeping services to multiple clients at our corporate office, onsite at client locations, or in the cloud. This position works directly with clients and serves as an internal team manager. This is not a fully remote position. You must be committed to commuting to our office in Santa Barbara on a periodic basis.

OVERVIEW

Manage, transact, or support the bookkeeping needs for multiple clients point-of-contact for client; serve as an internal team manager for the client

Work with a diverse group of businesses, communicating regularly with clients to ensure they have a clean set of books, positioning each of the clients for financial success

Build strong client relationships; become the go-to client bookkeeping expert

Use your thorough understanding of accounting concepts and operations to perform controller-level work

RESPONSIBILITIES & RESULTS

Successfully oversee or transact the daily bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients

Support daily bookkeeping needs, working as an internal team leader for client

Perform and review daily AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, creating or adjusting journal entries

Prepare financial statements as needed

Track data for W9 retrieval and complete 1099 reporting at year-end

Track data for sales tax prep and produce sales tax returns

Complete various bookkeeping-related projects for multiple clients

Maintain integral communication with clients to review or discuss their bookkeeping activities

Align as a partner with client’s internal team

Professional presentation in person and via email, phone, or virtual conferencing

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING US

Management skills, preferred – proven ability to successfully manage team

Degree in Accounting, preferred

Thorough understanding of and experience with accounting concepts and operations, such as: cash flow, trial balance, balance sheet, debits and credits, net income, equity, assets, liabilities, journal entries

Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a successful full-charge bookkeeper, skilled at working with multiple clients and various business entity types

Well versed in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop and understanding of both platforms – prefer QBO certification

Excellent tech skills – server navigation, cloud experience, skill with MS Office Suite and Excel, knowledge and skill with QuickBooks integrating apps

Developed presentation, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and manage multiple clients simultaneously – skilled at time management, organization, and planning

Possess analytical and problem-solving skills
