Part-Full Time Traditional Housekeeper (Discreet, Experienced, Old-Fashioned Standard)
Hours: Part-time, schedule mutually agreeable

We are seeking a cultured, seasoned housekeeper to assist in the quiet and careful running of a well-kept home. This is not a fast-paced service role, but rather a position for an individual who takes genuine pride in maintaining order, beauty, and a sense of calm domesticity.
Although our residence is modest in size, we hold to high standards of care, cleanliness, and thoughtful detail. The role also includes simple companionship and light support for an elderly family member in the home.
Responsibilities
Preparation of light meals and occasional baking
Daily tidying of common rooms; beds made neatly and attractively
Laundry care with knowledge of proper methods
Ironing of shirts, linens, etc
Light sewing: hems, buttons, minor repairs
Weekly household organizing: cupboards, pantry, drawers
Errands (grocer, dry cleaning, posting parcels)
Graceful presentation of food, simple table setting, and good eye for aesthetic arrangement
Respectful maintenance of wood floors, stone counters, and other surfaces
Light caregiving for an elderly resident, including:
- preparing tea or small snacks
- assisting with simple dressing (cardigans, shoes, buttons)
- offering gentle companionship and a reassuring presence
- (No bathing, bathroom care, lifting, or medical responsibilities are required.)
Qualifications
Impeccable, verifiable references
Demonstrated experience in private homes or traditional households
Deep practical knowledge of appropriate methods of cleaning
Ability to work independently without micromanaging
Discretion; privacy is respected and protected
Gentle, polite demeanor; takes pride in doing things properly
Preferences
