About us
We are seeking an experienced and qualified chef to help oversee and lead our kitchens. It is a very hands on position that requires a combination/rotation of cooking and food preparation, maintaining health and safety standards and assisting the Santa Barbara regional manager . This is an academic schedule and is a Monday-Friday shift with no late nights.
Schedule is approximately 6:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday including overtime.
Responsibilities
Assist with oversight of academic kitchens including administrative needs.
Food preparation, cooking, and serving
Construct menus and ensure they meet any dietary guidelines, taste and look the best they can and meet budgetary requirements
Plan all food, cleaning and paper goods purchasers to keep inventory levels appropriately stocked
Arrange for repairs when necessary
Troubleshoot any problems
Managing and training kitchen staff
Maintain records of payroll and attendance
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Foster a climate of cooperation and respect
Skills For This Position:
Proven experience as lead chef
Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
Outstanding communication and leadership skills
Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
Good understanding of useful computer programs and cell phone apps
Credentials in health and safety training- California serve safe certificate
